Model Program

Secondary Technical Education Program (STEP) - Anoka

This program is a high school in a college setting that allows students to take courses that prepare them for the 21st Century Workforce.  It is a partnership with MnSCU (Anoka Technical College), the local community, and Anoka-Hennepin School District to provide students with rigorous, relevant, hands-on experience in Career & Technical Education courses and earn college credit while still in high school.

Student Eligibility:

Most program have no general eligibility requirements.  However, some courses have prerequisites that must be taken in order to take the advanced level courses. Concurrent enrollment courses require students to meet general eligibility requirements including class rank, ACT or PLAN scores, OR 8th Grade MCA scores.

Faculty Credentialing and/or Teacher Licensure Requirements which support this program:

All teachers must be appropriately licensed teachers in Career & Technical Education.  Teachers that offer concurrent enrollment must meet minimum qualifications to offer college credit.
