Model Program

Pathways to Postsecondary 2.0 Summits (2014-2015)

Dates and Registration:

Select a date/location to register from the list below. All summits are 8:30AM to 3:30PM.

October 9 - Bemidji State University, Bemidji

October 10 - Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College, Cloquet 

October 28 – Southwest Minnesota State University, Marshall

December 4 - Rochester Community & Technical College, Rochester

December 5 - St. Cloud State University, St. Cloud

January 23 - North Hennepin Community College, Brooklyn Park

February 6 – Dakota County Technical College, Rosemount

Goals:


Provide current information related to career and college readiness legislation, including: “World’s Best Workforce,” aligned assessments, Personal Learning Plans, targeted interventions, and expansion of college credit options for the continuum of students.

Explore successful local and national program models serving low-come, first generation college students, students of color, and English language learners.

Discover opportunities for new or expanded partnerships that provide high school students the opportunity to earn college credits in high school.

Share regional workforce needs and trends and strategies to successfully engage business and industry partners.

Updated information related to career and college readiness legislation, including: "World's Best Workforce", aligned assessments, targeted interventions, Personal Learning Plans, and expansion of college credit options.

Joel Vargas / Jobs for the Future

Joel will provide a national context to our work and share the importance of early college credit programming for students historically underrepresented in higher education. His presentation will be pre-recorded with facilitated discussion. He will be present at the summit on February 6th.

Higher Learning Commission (HLC)
Karen Solinski and Sunil Ahuja from MnSCU’s postsecondary accrediting body, will provide information about their dual credit study from 2012. They will address issues such as credentialing and qualifications, student access to learning resources, and other elements of quality assurance for dual credit programs.
